Its been a long time since I’ve written an entry.
Life has been going along just fine. Here’s what’s on the horizon for 2013:
January: turn 23 (ah!)
February: Mardi Gras 2013 (my 4th and final Mardi Gras as a Tulane student)
March: Spring Break 2013 - to be determined; also my last round of mid-terms
April: My last Crawfest as a Tulane Student, Brynn is visiting!
May: GRADUATION! I will FINALLY recieve my bachelors and masters degrees. Its been a LOT of hard work and I’m ready. Also, road trip back to PA with my mom. Stopping in Savannah and Peach Tree City
June: My little brother will graduate high school; also I will start studying for the CPA
July: I will *hopefully* begin sitting for the CPA
August: Hoping to visit Michael in California; also more CPA stuff; Taking Evan to PITT to start college!
September: Hopefully nailing down an apartment in Philly! More CPA stuff
October: *FINALLY* starting my full-time grown-up real person job at GT.
November: Spending my real person pay check to decorate my new real apartment
December: First holiday living in Philly; First Christmas as a real person
Intermixed with all these big life events I have a couple of little goals for myself. I’ll try to check back in and see if I’ve made any progress:
- Keep running about 5 times a week
- Run a 5k this summer
- Make a budget, and stick to it
- Pass at least 3 parts of the CPA before starting work
- Try new fancy drinks at happy hour
- Talk to different kinds of people
- Craft at least one thing a month
- Cook at least one thing from Pinterest per month
- Treat myself to a mani-pedi every other month
- Finish all my homework
- Don’t skip any classes
- Use Facebook a little less
- Try Yoga
- Remember to take pictures!
Its the little things :)
Happy 2013

Fall 2012 is going well. Its been very different from every other year I’ve been at Tulane, but that’s been a good thing. Of course I really miss all my friends that graduated and went off to their real lives, but its been fun meeting new people and trying new things.
First off, I have a JOB! Starting fall 2013 I will be working full-time in Philadelphia (home sweet home) for Grant Thornton. I am BEYOND excited. I got a job that I actually want, and I found out over a year ahead of time. Life is good. So please go back and disregard all my emo job hunt posts from last spring. Also, I have the summer off to travel, hang out, study for the CPA exam, apartment hunt, etc. I’m pretty excited about it. I may take a part-time job on just to bring in soem extra cash, but nothing like last summer.
As for the semester at Tulane, we started the year off with a hurricane heading straight for New Orleans. Isaac sucked, I lost power for 5 days, lived in the hottest house ever, found a roach in my sneaker, lived like a nomad, and my car was damaged. But, its over now and I can say I survived my last hurricane season in New Orleans (bittersweet I guess).

After Hurricane Isaac I started a typical fall of studying, working out, hanging out with friends, etc. I’ve been going to the gym a lot this fall so I’m proud of myself for that! This past weekend I got to go to Beaumont, Texas with Catharine and Annie to visit Catharine’s brother. We went shooting, fishing, and to Lamar University’s homecoming game. Needless to say it was a struggle.

Fishing for needlefish (terrifying…Catharine caught one)

Well its been a great fall so far, and I’m getting excited for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and my December trip to Disney World!

I’m getting ready for my fifth and final year of higher education. Thank god. Maybe not.
Its weird that two years ago I was starting my junior year, everyone I knew was going back, I was moving into 311, and I was going abroad in the spring. Now I’m an alumna in my sorority, most of my friends have graduated, I’m interviewing for real jobs after college, I live off campus, I have a car in NOLA, I have no meal plan, I’m 22…but its ok. Its how life is meant to be and I like that life keeps moving. Even though I miss the past I’m glad it happened and it needs to be the past so I can enjoy the future. Besides, if we all kept living in the past it would get predictable and that would be boring. I don’t like boring.
